STARTING WELL (7 Days Fasting/Prayer)

7 Days of Creation

Anchor Scripture: Genesis 1

This is the beginning of the year and God is using us to create things for ourselves. Looking at our lives there are a lot of things that need to be formed, aligned, arranged and you do not have that pattern, but when you begin to allow the Spirit of the Lord to brood upon you (Genesis 1:2), God will begin to lay the foundation for the patterns.

The fact that God created the universe out of nothing is a vital truth for Christians and also the bedrock that assures us that everything has meaning and purpose. Your life/situation right now could be like that in which God began to create. It is a true description of man without God’s creativity – no shape or meaning to life, unfulfilled and going nowhere, despair and sadness permeating your very being, no form or substance, only a void – a deep, dark hole of nothingness. Out of that nothingness, God created everything. Out of your nothingness – out of your most terrible experiences, God can create something quite distinctive and beautiful and because God wants to form and fill our lives with His glory, let’s look at how the 7 days of creation relates to us and the things we need to do ourselves.

DAY 1 – LIGHT

Genesis 1:3-5 …And God said, let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Light speaks of Vision, Understanding, Revelation and Wisdom.

Vision: Do you have a vision for your life? Do you have something to run with this year? Our eyes are the windows of our heart (Matthew 6:22, Proverbs 30:17) Vision as we know is what we see, but it is also the way we see it. Vision is the whole essence of your living. Begin to have a foresight with insight and articulate a clear vision for your life.

Understanding (Matthew 13:19): The Word of God is what brings understanding (Psalms 119:130). When the Word comes to you and you are without understanding, Satan will quickly take it out of you and your life will be completely barren and unfruitful. You need illumination (divine enlightenment) in your heart.

Revelation: Having a clear divine revelation of what is real will deliver you from a life of torment. Until you see God your perspective and character will never change (Job 42:5, Isaiah 6:5)

Wisdom (Proverbs 4:7): Wisdom is the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 9:10). Make up your mind to live in the fear of the Lord. His fear brings wisdom and gives you direction in life.

DAY 2 – SEPERATION

Genesis 1:6-8…And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

Separation is based on one of God’s essential attributes – His Holiness. We are called to be separated unto Christ. Though we are in the world, but we are not of the world.

There are 2 different kingdoms operating by 2 different principles in the world; the kingdom of God operating by the ‘Faith’ principle and the kingdom of the world operating by the ‘sight’ principle. The ‘world’ is simply a system of operation not guided by the principles of the Word of God. As we know, we are a tripatheid being – You are a spirit, you live in a body and you possess a soul (the seat of your intellect, will and emotions). If your spirit man is not separated from your carnal man, then your life will never be straight and leveled. Here are the things you deliberately need to separate from;

Yourself (Genesis 1:6b)…and let it divide the waters from the waters.

Every self-imposed limitation – beliefs, thought patterns, lifestyle, attitudes and characters that do not line up with God’s Word will stop the move of God in your life.

Iniquity (2 Timothy 2:19):  You must turn away from sin and grow into the image of God. Iniquity always brings low (Psalm 106:43) and anything that makes low is bringing you into darkness, confusion and foolishness.

World System (1 John 2:15): You are not of the world, your citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20). Be not conformed to this world (Romans 12:2) but set your affections on things above (Colossians 3:2). A friend of the world is the enemy of God (James 4:4) and whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world   (1 John 5:4).

Unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14-17): The Word of God tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers but rather come out from amongst them and be separate because every unbeliever is under the influence and power of Satan.

Other things you need to separate from:

  • Family Ties
  • Your Past
  • Soul Ties
  • Evil covenants etc.

DAY 3: FRUITFULNESS

Genesis 1:11-13…And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding sees after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.

Until you are blessed to be a blessing people will never partake of your fruits. In the natural world, fruit is the result of a healthy plant producing what it was designed to produce. In the Bible, the word ‘fruit’ is often used to describe a person’s outward actions that result from the condition of the heart. Good fruit is that which is produced by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22) and we are the trees of righteousness (Isaiah 61:3). Before He said ‘Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it, He implanted the ability to do those things into the fiber of your being and God never demand anything that He does not provide for or put the seed in you. Whatever God commands you to do, He equips you to do. Jesus told us clearly what we must do to bear good fruit. He said ‘Abide in me, and I in you’ (John 15:4-5). You must stay firmly attached and connected in Christ to remain productive because you can only draw strength, nourishment, protection and energy from Him. As fruit is unique to each tree, our fruit is unique to us. When there is no fruit in your life and for others to partake of, you will be cut-off     (John 15:2).

The third day is also a very strategic day in the economy of God – Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day (Luke 24:46, 1 Corinthians 15:4), Esther was shown favor on the third day (Esther 5:1), the marriage at Cana in Galilee was on the third day (John 2:1), Abraham lifted up his eyes on the third day and saw the mount (Genesis 22:4).

It is the day of resurrection/raising up (Luke 18:33, Acts 10:40, Hosea 6:2). It is the day of strict instructions and obedience (Genesis 42:18). It is the day where you ‘do and live’. Faith and obedience will be the 2 legs you will need to stand and prosper as a Christian. If you truly want to be blessed and watch God revive and raise up every dead thing in you to make you fruitful in your marriage, career, business, ministry, academics etc., stay in the place of faith and obedience.

DAY 4 – DAY OF SEASONS OF OUR LIVES

Genesis 1:14-19…And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

God ordained times and seasons and our lives are made up of times and seasons, days and years. To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under the heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

Everyone is born with a star. The bible records that the astrologers (wise men) saw the star of Jesus when he was born and followed it (Mathew 2:2).

When God created these heavenly bodies, He configured them in a way that they will be for times and for seasons. They were programmed by God in the beginning to favor us and work for us (psalm 121:6) but in the fallen state of man being the days of ignorance, there were things programmed by the enemy back into the sun and the moon to work against us. You need to know that from our Bible, there really are higher-ranking demons in Satan’s kingdom controlling much of the evil activity that occurs on earth from these second heaven positions. The second heaven is what we call the ‘astral world’ wherein dwells the constellations (Sun, moon and stars). The Bible refers to them as principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).These activities influence our times and seasons, days and years negatively. They make you that you are delayed and stagnated, accomplishing little or nothing at all.

There are also spiritual enemies fighting you day and night and this you must know that your life is a constant warfare. They make enchantments, incantations, evil projections, divinations and satanic pronouncements against you and often while you sleep (Matthew 13:25), as the day dawns and at sunrise, those evil speaking begin to manifest by altering the seasons of your life bringing delay and stagnation.

Judges 5:20 as well as Joshua 10:13 are clear references that show that these heavenly bodies can either work against man or be altered.

The goodnews is, the seasons of your life can be re-arranged and restored. This is one of the reasons Christ came, that He might destroy the works of the devil        (1 John 3:8).
